Martin Meng: Classical Ballet


Educated at the High School of the Arts, Amsterdam, danced with Dutch National Ballet/Amsterdam, The National Ballet of Canada/Toronto, Deutsche Oper Berlin in choreographies from a.o. Balanchine, Van Dantzig, Bejart, Petit as well as the classics. His teachers include Vladilen Semionov, Irina Kolpakova, Yevgeny Neff, Mikhail Lavrovsky, John Clifford, Reuven Vooremberg, Brigitte Thom, Heinz Manniegel.
Martin started working as a balletmaster at the “Grand Theatre” (Teatr Wielki) Warsaw, and continued as a guest-teacher with companies such as the Royal Swedish Ballet, the Finnish National Ballet, and schools like the “Stedelijk Instituut voor Ballet”, Antwerp.
In 2008 Martin was invited to prepare the examination of the Royal Conservatory in The Hague.
He has coached many leading roles in ballets like Swan Lake, Giselle, The Nutcracker in productions from a.o. Konstantin Sergeyev and Rudolf Nureyev.
Martin has taught every level of classical ballet, from beginners and amateurs, professional students up to the highest professional level.
