Jill Locke: Pilates Yoga Stretching


Jill is onlangs in Amsterdam komen wonen vanuit NY. Ze is modern danser en Pilates docente, afgestudeerd aan de Kane School for Core Integration (o.l.v. Kelly Kane). In 2004 studeerde en werkte ze bij Jennifer Kries, een van New York's meest prominente pilates- docenten. Hier heeft ze o.a. meegewerkt aan een serie Pilates en Yoga-videos (Sony release in 2006). Jill's leerlingen variëren van atleten en professionele dansers tot mensen die graag bewuster met hun lichaam omgaan of lichamelijke klachten willen verhelpen. In haar lessen kunnen mensen hun lichaam herontdekken en leren ze de pilates principes toe te passen in hun alledaagse leven. Jill gebruikt daarbij ook elementen uit de dans, yoga, martial arts, Feldenkrais, BMC en BrainGym.


Jill recently relocated to Amsterdam from NYC where she was a professional modern dancer and Pilates teacher. She received her training and certification at the Kane School for Core Integration under the direction of Kelly Kane. Through 2004 she studied and worked for Jennifer Kries, one of New York City's most prominent Pilates' teachers. Her last project with Kries before relocating to the Netherlands was a series of Pilates and Yoga videos produced by Sony (2006 releases).
As a teacher Jill's clientele has ranged from athletes and professional dancers to everyday people wanting to redesign their bodies or alleviate painful back problems. In her classes she focuses on creating a safe haven for people to push and rediscover their bodies as well as creating a deep understanding of Pilates principles for people to take into their everyday lives. Jill also pulls from other disciplines for classes, using dance, yoga, various martial arts, Feldenkrais, BMC, and BrainGym to expand vocabulary and create warmth and flow.
