Ilka graduated from the Rotterdam Dance Academy, before specializing in Jazz and Tap dance by extending her study in the USA (New York City & Chicago).
Ilka received several scholarships from the Gus Giordano Dance Center (Chicago), which gave her the chance to work with and learn from legendary master teachers of Jazz Dance, such as Gus Giordano himself, Matt Mattox, Frank Hatchett and Chuck Davis. She was also an apprentice at the Jazz Dance World Congress in 1994 and 1997.
After returning to Europe, Ilka performed in various hit musicals such as “Saturday Night Fever”, “42nd Street”, “3 Musketeers”, and toured The Netherlands with the Gershwin musical “Crazy for You”.
Her performing credits also include experimental modern/ theatre dance productions, films, television and industrial shows.
Ilka is also a certified Pilates Teacher by Power Pilates (New York City).
As a teacher, Ilka knows how to bring her expertise, passion and humor together in a professional class at any level.
